Sunrise Sunset

Is this the little girl I carried?

Is this the little boy at play?

I don't remember growing older,

When did they?

oh, alright.. I love that song. And the name of this afghan is Sunrise, Sunset. And all the time I've been working on it, the song has been going through my head.

It's still in progress, but thought I'd show off what I have so far. This is TLC Essentials in Navy & Steel Blue.

The pattern is free at www.coatsandclark.com You have to search for it, it's not easily found.

I love both the song AND your afghan.

I'm over at 25 Things and am wondering if you are the same Lisa who sends coats to an orphanage in China? I am going through clothes and coats my kids have outgrown and want to send them over to China. Please reply on my blog when you get a chance (if I have the right Lisa!). Thanks.

Hi there,

I'm trying to make this afghan and I am getting stuck at the Rnd 5 after the clusters. If you can, could you please try and explain how you did Rnd 5 working in the ch-4 sp. I'm sure it's easy, but I'm just running into problems.
My email is cutlarie@aol.com. Any help would be great! Thank you.

Well, this is where I got a bit creative. I didn't follow their instructions explicitly.

I'll see if I can explain.

At the end of Rnd 2, I didn't fasten off. I chained 4 and let it hang to the front. I did round 3 as described & fastened off.

Then for rnd 4, I went back to my chain 4 and picked it up and used the chain 4 as a triple crochet.. made 2 sc in the chain 4 space from rnd 3.. and otherwise followed the directions.

This worked well for me and gave me two less ends to weave in. :)

Hope it works for you too!
